Table 2. Variance requests resulting in an increase of IGC (impermeable ground cover) and a loss of greenspace (trees, shrubs and grass) in Austin during most of 1996. A total of approximately 4.15 acres (180,697 ft2) of greenspace was lost from the first 23 requests. The last five requests resulted in an increase of IGC above the maximum allowed level for each zone district by a total of 50.73 percent.
